SERRANO SALSA RECIPE

THE HEAT IS ON WITH A STEAMY SUMMER SERRANO SALSA.
Serrano peppers snapped fresh from the vine accompany other freshly-harvested produce
to redefine sizzling in this Serrano Salsa Recipe.


Ingredients:

5 - Roma (plum) tomatoes, seeded and chopped
10 - Green onions
2 - Fresh Serrano peppers, seeded
1/4 cup - Chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons - Fresh lime juice
2 tablespoons - Hot pepper sauce
1 teaspoon - Ground black pepper
1 teaspoon - Garlic powder
1 teaspoon - Salt

Preparation:

In a blender or food processor, pulse the tomatoes, green onions, Serrano peppers, and cilantro to desired consistency. Transfer to a bowl, and mix in the lime juice, hot pepper sauce, black pepper, garlic powder, and salt.  Serve with tortilla chips.

Cold Appetizer Pizza Serving Suggestion:

Spread the salsa over a pre-baked, cooled pizza shell. Garnish with sprigs of cilantro, diced radishes, red onions and black olives. Cut into finger-sized or mini-slice servings as a chilled appetizer.
